In the case your bluetooth or phone doesn't open the doors, leave the leasing office through the second door. Please DO NOT go to the leasing office to request for any service, CEL is responsible for them.

Self Check-in

When you arrive at AVA make sure to go to the main entrance door (3883 Ingraham St.) In case you arrive at a different gate, just hold your phone against the pad, check on the map where your apartment is and head straight to your apartment.

Next to the door, on the right side is this phone pad. You should hold your phone close to this pad in order to enter the building.

Make sure that you open the Latch App first. The App should look like this (see picture). If you have this layout after the login, you are ready to hold your phone close to the pad.

Hold your phone to the pad for a few seconds. (After a few seconds you will hear that the door is unlocked)

Check on the map(see map below) where your apartment is. When you are at your apartment hold your phone on the pad. Wait until the door is unlocked. It will make a little noise.

After you hear the unlock tone you need to push the stick to the left side. The door is now open, and you can enter the apartment. Every time you leave the apartment, you need to push the stick to the right side - It will lock your door.

You can also use the door code using the digital pad. Click menu. There you need to click on "My doorcodes". You will see 2 code numbers. Communal Doors and your Apartment (see the example). Type these codes from the App onto the pad and the doors will unlock.

Take a closer look to the map. Look where your apartment is and head in the direction. The first digit of each room number on the map represents which floor it is. For example, if your room number is A209, it means that your room is on the 2nd floor. Find A109 on the map first and go up to the second floor there.

Rotate your phone!

Quiet time is from 21:00 until 9:00 (9pm until 9am). Excessive noise is not allowed at any time! Parties are prohibited at all times! You are allowed to have guests between 9 am and 9 pm (9:00 - 21:00). The total number of persons in the apartment can not exceed 6 in total. NO overnight guests at any time! NO alcohol is allowed in the pool area. Glass bottles are not allowed in the pool/BBQ area. NO Smoking/Vaping in the whole AVA complex. You need to go out of the complex to smoke. NO dangerous or disruptive behavior will be tolerated. Any person being disruptive or breaking rules will be asked to leave the area. Electricity usage - There’s a max usage of the electricity per apartment. Make sure to switch off the AC, HEATER plus all lights when leaving the apartment. You will be held responsible for electricity bills exceeding $150 per month/apartment

IMPORTANT Rules

CEL may enter the premises at any time, to check the condition of the apartment, or to exhibit the premises to prospective or actual tenants or workers. Such entry, other than in case of emergency, will be made during business hours, unless the resident otherwise consents to the time of entry.

Frequently asked questions

Does CEL provide toilet paper? CEL provides one roll of toilet paper, on your arrival date. After that, the students are responsible for purchasing this themselves. Does CEL provide laundry detergent? NO. CEL does not provide laundry detergent. Every student is responsible for buying their own detergent. Does CEL clean the Apartments? A cleaner will come every week. They will clean the living room, vacuum, and wash your bed sheets. However, they are not responsible for doing dishes or moving your stuff around. Also, you need to strip the bed and put the bed sheets and towels in your designated basket before the cleaner comes if you'd like them cleaned.

Do you like to swim? You can go for a swim in the pool at AVA. The pool is directly behind the Leasing Office. BBQ outdoor area is right next to it.

AVA has also a jacuzzi. It is perfect to relax in after a busy day. You also can enjoy the fire place next to the hot tub.

Do you enjoy getting active after sitting in class? No problem in AVA. There is a big gym directly under the Leasing Office and in front of the pool. Guests are not allowed.

Besides the gym, you can also get active at the tennis and basketball courts. The courts are in the complex area on the left side from of the leasing office. First come, first serve - no reservation needed.

Lounge room with seating area, pool table, ping pong, and packman games. This is a great area for you to hang out with friends. Please note that you need reservation for large group gatherings. Make sure to respect their operation hours.

To get started, follow these simple steps shown in the video:

Each building has its own laundry room. Just take a look around your complex level and you will see the closest laundry room. Once you get there, fill the machine with your clothes and close the door. Afterwards you pour laundry detergent (not provided by AVA or CEL) into the machine. Insert the card, select the wash cycle you want, press start and pull the card out. **Remove your clothes right after the cleaning cycle is finished.

We recommend visiting each store to see which store is more to your liking for future needs. We recommend asking the stores for their free “store cards” which will unlock deals and discounts on items throughout the store.
